The United States, England, and France obstructing the process of the Security Council meeting to attack the Iranian consulate

The United States, England and France blocked the draft statement of the Security Council, which condemned the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus by the Zionists.

The United States, England and France blocked the draft statement presented by Russia to the UN Security Council, which condemned the attack on the Iranian consulate building in Syria.

Press releases issued by the 15-member council must be approved unanimously, according to a Reuters report. Diplomats said the United States, backed by France and Britain, has argued that many facts about what happened in Damascus on Monday are still unclear and there was no consensus among council members at Tuesday’s meeting.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Deputy Representative to the United Nations, said in a post about this: This is a clear example of the double standards used by the Western Troika and their approach to law and order in the international context.

The Security Council had previously issued statements condemning attacks on diplomatic headquarters. On Wednesday, the European Union condemned the attack and said that the immunity of diplomatic and consular buildings and personalities should be respected and called for restraint.

Iran has declared that this attack violates the 1973 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Persons Under International Protection, including diplomatic personnel, who are the victims of this attack.
