America sanctions a battalion of the occupying army

Informed sources say that they expect, in an unprecedented decision, the US Secretary of State will soon announce sanctions against a battalion of the occupying army.

Three US sources told Axios that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is expected to announce sanctions against the Nitsah Yehuda Battalion for human rights violations within the next few days.

According to Axios, this is the first time that the United States has sanctioned a military unit of the Zionist regime.

Also, it is said that several other units in the occupying army were investigated by the US State Department and were not sanctioned because it was claimed that they had “corrected their behavior”.

Sources say that these sanctions prohibit the said battalion and its members from receiving any kind of aid or military training from the United States. An American official said that Blinken’s decision is based on the events that occurred in the West Bank before October 7 and the start of the war.

It has been said that the US State Department started an investigation into the “Nitzah Yehuda” battalion from the end of 2022 and after several violent incidents. In one of these incidents, an 80-year-old Palestinian-American man was arrested by the soldiers of this battalion in the West Bank checkpoint section. After this person refused to be searched, the soldiers left him handcuffed and bound on the ground in the extreme cold, and his body was found a few hours later.

However, even if this sanction is officially announced, America is still considered one of the most important supporters of the Zionist regime, especially after the Gaza war. According to the data of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, 68% of the arms imports to the occupied territories between 2013 and 2022 came from the United States. US President Joe Biden has always declared his diplomatic support for the occupying regime during this war, which destroyed more than 80% of Gaza’s infrastructure and killed more than 33,000 people.
