Abdallah Bou Habib, the Foreign Minister of the Government of Lebanon’s Affairs in the said conference, presented Lebanon’s request to start a plan to improve the situation in Syria, to separate the issue of refugees from political considerations, and to create safe areas in Syria for the return of refugees.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon’s interim government stated that Abdullah Bou Habib made contacts with his Arab counterparts from Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Syria and agreed on a single plan to coordinate with the Syrian side and support the early improvement of the situation in this country. Lebanon also emphasized the need for support and help to encourage Syrian refugees to return to their country.
