Security Council issued permission for 4 Taliban officials to travel to Saudi Arabia

The United Nations Security Council issued permission to travel to Saudi Arabia for four Taliban leaders to perform Hajj rituals.

According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, the UN Security Council announced for “Mohammed Abdul Kabir” Political deputy of the prime minister, Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Intelligence chief Abdul Haq Wathiq, and Noor Muhammad Saqib, Minister of Hajj and Endowments, have allowed the Taliban government to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

According to The announcement of the United Nations Security Council, travel exemption for these senior members of the Taliban was issued on Wednesday, June 16/ June 5.

These people are on the list of sanctions of the United Nations and are prohibited from traveling.

The UN Security Council did not mention the recent visit of Sirajuddin Haqqani and Abdulhaq Vathiq to the United Arab Emirates, and it is not clear whether this trip took place with the permission of the Security Council or not.
