Strait of Hormuz Shipping Traffic Hits Multi-Month Low
Maritime data reveals a significant decline in cargo ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 10 days, reaching its lowest point since May. Daily transit numbers have fallen to an average of just 10 vessels, with some days seeing as few as two ships.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data compiled by maritime analytics firm Kpler indicates a sharp decrease in cargo ship movements through the Strait of Hormuz in the last ten days. This period has seen transit numbers fall to their lowest levels recorded since May.
The average daily number of cargo vessels traversing the vital waterway has dropped to approximately 10 ships. Kpler reported that on Saturday, only two ships passed through the Strait, and on the following day, six vessels transited. Notably, the majority of ships that have navigated the Strait during this period have adhered to the designated transit routes specified by Iran.
