The destruction of the water supply channel of the main power plants in Kosovo following the explosion

The water supply channel of the cooling systems of two main power plants in Kosovo was destroyed after an explosion.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency According to Reuters, the water supply channel for the cooling systems of two main coal-fired power plants in Kosovo, which supplies most of the electricity to this autonomous region, was destroyed following an explosion.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Korti called the incident a “terrorist attack” and claimed that the neighboring country, Serbia, was involved. Without providing details about the amount of damage, he told this channel that the explosion was carried out by professionals and probably on the orders of Belgrade.

This incident happened near the town of Zubin Potok in the north of Kosovo. The pictures published in the local media show that the side of this reinforced channel is destroyed and water is coming out with high pressure. This canal extends from the north of Kosovo, where the majority of its inhabitants are Serbs, to Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo, and supplies drinking water to this autonomous region.

The American embassy in Pristina also called this incident a terrorist attack and while condemning it, announced that it is closely monitoring the situation.

Hostiles between Kosovo, which is predominantly ethnic Albanian, and Serbia have remained strong since the end of the war between Serbian forces and Albanian rebels in the late 1990s. . Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in 2008, and Serbia, which considers it part of its territory, has refused to recognize it.
