China Warns Against Any Trade Agreements Targeting Beijing
China’s Ministry of Commerce Responds to U.S.-Initiated Tariff War
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that all parties should uphold fairness and justice regarding the issue of customs tariffs and support international economic and trade rules.
The ministry added that China strongly opposes any agreements that undermine its national interests. Should such agreements occur, China will take countermeasures. The country is capable of defending its rights and interests.
China’s Ministry of Commerce emphasized that Beijing also underscores the importance of resolving economic and trade disputes with the U.S. through dialogue. Recently, the U.S. has abused tariffs against all its trading partners—a move aimed at reinforcing hegemony and unilateral policies in the economic and trade spheres.
