Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Attacks U.S. Drone in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it successfully targeted and attacked a remote-controlled unmanned vessel belonging to the U.S. military as it attempted to enter a protected area in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the public relations department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on Tuesday confirming an attack on a United States Navy drone. The IRGC stated that its naval forces targeted a remotely managed unmanned vessel of the U.S. military that was attempting to enter a protected zone within the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The statement, released under the title “In the Name of God, the Capable, the Avenger,” asserted that any “cowardly act” by the enemy is under the constant surveillance of the IRGC’s valiant naval forces and will be met with a decisive response. It emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway, is under the management of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that any hostile action by the “child-killing enemy” will be dealt with firmly.

The IRGC further warned the “aggressive United States” that its only option is to withdraw from the region and cease its provocations. The statement concluded with a religious invocation, “Victory comes only from God, the Almighty, the Wise.” The incident highlights ongoing tensions in the sensitive waterway.
