China temporarily cancels visas for Persian Gulf littoral states

Chinese ​sources report​ that Beijing will implement a one-year ​pilot policy ‌to waive visas for travelers​ from four Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

According to webangah News Agency,China’s Foreign​ Ministry announced the launch of a trial policy allowing ordinary passport holders from Saudi arabia,Oman,Kuwait,and ⁢Bahrain to enter ⁤china visa-free ​for ⁢stays of up to 30 days between June 9,2025,and June 8,2026.

Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, stated: “With the inclusion‌ of the UAE and Qatar-which have ⁤maintained ⁢reciprocal visa-waiver ‌agreements ⁢with China as 2018-China ⁣now extends visa exemptions to all GCC member states.”

She added: “We welcome more friends⁣ from GCC ⁣countries to embark on spontaneous trips to China.”
