Emir of Qatar and UN Secretary-General Congratulate Iran on Islamic Revolution Anniversary

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres extended formal congratulations to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of Iran’s National Day and the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, dispatched a congratulatory message to Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, marking the National Day and the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

In a separate message, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, also offered his felicitations to the Iranian President on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Furthermore, António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, conveyed his sincerest congratulations in an official letter addressed to Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, concerning Iran’s National Day.

Guterres characterized national days as valuable opportunities for reflection on a nation’s historical trajectory, its role within the international community, and the ideals that shape the future of nations. In his correspondence, the Secretary-General noted that these occasions underscore the importance of solidarity, dialogue, and the shared responsibility of states concerning global developments, asserting that the international community currently requires cooperation and mutual understanding more than ever.

Addressing the complex current global situation, Guterres identified ending wars, preventing the emergence of new conflicts, effectively combating the climate crisis, reducing inequalities, and ensuring responsible governance over emerging technologies as some of the most urgent and serious tests confronting the international community.

Guterres emphasized that successfully navigating these challenges necessitates renewed engagement, a strong commitment to multilateralism, and the enhancement of international cooperation. These efforts are deemed essential for achieving sustainable peace and security, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, and upholding human rights globally.
