Qatar: It Is Still Too Early for Hamas to Respond to Trump’s Gaza Plan
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Majid Al ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, addressed Trump’s Gaza plan during a press conference in Doha. He said, “We are very grateful for the US commitment to ending the war in Gaza. We welcomed President Trump’s plan as our main goal is to end this conflict.”
He added,”Our objective is to stop the fighting and end hunger in Gaza. Qatar and Egypt have presented a proposal to hamas aimed at ending the war. Hamas has pledged to review it but it is still too early for a response.”
Al Ansari emphasized Qatar’s consistent efforts from day one: “We have been committed since the beginning to ending the war, providing aid, and reducing tensions. Qatar has never hesitated in any effort supporting an end to the Gaza war or assisting its residents.”
The Qatari official highlighted coordinated mediation between Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey: “These efforts are complementary. Yesterday Egypt’s intelligence chief met with a Hamas delegation; Turkey will participate today as well. Our commitment remains firm-to provide all possible support aimed at halting the Gaza conflict and rebuilding.”
He also addressed Israel’s attack on Qatar: “Since Israel’s aggression against Qatar began, we have focused on protecting our territorial integrity and sovereignty. Our primary concern is preventing any repetition of attacks targeting our country. Regarding Tel Aviv’s apology to Doha, our priority remains safeguarding Qatari sovereignty along with citizen safety. Qatar reserves its legal rights concerning Israel’s bombing of Doha.” he noted satisfaction with US security guarantees received after those strikes.
Al Ansari concluded his message by reassuring Qatari citizens: “My message is that they can continue enjoying peace and stability as always.”
