Topics of Putin and Julani Meeting in Moscow + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing RIA Novosti via Mehr news Agency, Mohammed Al-Julani, leader of the ruling Syrian rebels, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on wednesday.
During the meeting, Putin stated that Russia and Syria have maintained a special relationship for decades, characterized by kind ties. He emphasized that Moscow is prepared to hold regular consultations with Damascus through the foreign Ministry.
Putin added that Syria’s recent parliamentary elections were a major success and woudl strengthen relations among all political forces. He expressed his pleasure in meeting Al-Julani in Moscow.
In response, Al-Julani said Syria aims to reset its relations with Russia. He stressed that stability within Syria and the region is paramount. Strong cooperative ties between Russia and Syria-especially material cooperation-bind the two countries closely together. He thanked Putin for his warm reception in Moscow.
