Second Round of Talks Between Pakistani Officials and Afghanistan’s Interim Government Held in Istanbul
The second round of peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan began today,Saturday,in Istanbul under Turkey’s supervision. the discussions aim to review progress on agreed points from previous negotiations held in Doha, according to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency.
Sources familiar wiht the matter said the talks are taking place at a local hotel in Istanbul between delegations from both countries.
The Afghan interim government’s delegation is led by Rahmatullah Mujib, Deputy Minister of Interior, who is attending alongside the Interior Minister.
Also participating are Noor Rahman Nusrat from the Ministry of Defense, Afghanistan’s acting ambassador to Qatar, and a spokesperson for Afghanistan’s interim Foreign Ministry.
A two-member Pakistani delegation representing security officials is present. They are expected to propose solutions regarding border clashes, establish monitoring mechanisms, and outline frameworks to enhance security cooperation.
Diplomatic sources stated that the Istanbul dialogue aims to reinforce commitments made in Doha and create an effective mechanism for addressing mutual security concerns.
