U.S. Secretary of Defense: Washington-Beijing Relations at Their Best Yet

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Russia Today, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegst announced that he and his Chinese counterpart, Dong Jun, agreed on the necessity of establishing military communication channels to prevent conflicts and manage any escalation of tensions between the two countries.
He further stated,”I spoke with President Trump,and we both believe that relations between the United States and China are now at thier best.”
Hegst added that following President Trump’s historic meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, he held a very positive meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun in Malaysia. He also noted thay had another discussion last night.
The US defense chief emphasized their agreement that peace, stability, and good relations are the best path forward for both great powers.
In another part of his remarks, repeating statements made by Trump regarding the massacre of Christians in nigeria, Hegst claimed: “The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria or anywhere else in the world must stop immediately.”
Confirming Trump’s comments about possible US military action and threats against Nigeria,Hegst said: “The Department of Defense is preparing to act; either the Nigerian government protects Christians or we will destroy Islamist terrorists committing these horrific crimes.”
