Oliyanov: Iran Will Decide Its Nuclear Program’s Future Independently

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International organizations in Vienna, told RIA Novosti on Sunday that Iranian authorities will make their own decisions regarding the future of their nuclear program.
Ulyanov added that there are no restrictions on this matter as long as such activities are carried out exclusively for peaceful purposes and remain under effective supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Asked whether Tehran could take further steps to develop its nuclear program following the expiration of formal restrictions under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, he responded that it is indeed not yet clear if Iran will proceed with further developments. This decision rests with Iranian authorities themselves.Fundamentally, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons does not set stringent limits or prohibitions provided nuclear activities are solely for peaceful use and subject to effective IAEA monitoring.
