Hamas: Mediators Insist on Forming International Force Through Security Council Resolution

Mousa Abu Marzouk, a leader of the Hamas ⁢movement, told Al Jazeera ⁣Mubasher that mediators have insisted that⁤ the establishment ​of⁢ an ⁢international force in Gaza must come through a Security​ Council resolution,​ according to ‌the⁢ English section of webangah ‌News Agency,⁤ citing Mehr News⁣ Agency.

He ⁣emphasized that Palestinians agree the security ⁣force‍ in Gaza should be Palestinian and⁣ operate​ under the leadership of ⁣a local administrative committee.

Abu marzouk added that they have​ not ‌yet reached the second ⁢phase of negotiations concerning weapons in the Gaza Strip.

He noted that ⁣Israel has not succeeded in its war against Gaza, and ⁣despite two years of what⁤ he​ described as⁤ genocide, his people remain unyielding.

Abu marzouk concluded by stating that, to advance their national‌ interests,⁢ they ​agreed to let a minister affiliated with the ‌Palestinian Authority take charge of governing Gaza.
