Hamas: Mediators Insist on Forming International Force Through Security Council Resolution

Mousa Abu Marzouk, a leader of the Hamas movement, told Al Jazeera Mubasher that mediators have insisted that the establishment of an international force in Gaza must come through a Security Council resolution, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency.
He emphasized that Palestinians agree the security force in Gaza should be Palestinian and operate under the leadership of a local administrative committee.
Abu marzouk added that they have not yet reached the second phase of negotiations concerning weapons in the Gaza Strip.
He noted that Israel has not succeeded in its war against Gaza, and despite two years of what he described as genocide, his people remain unyielding.
Abu marzouk concluded by stating that, to advance their national interests, they agreed to let a minister affiliated with the Palestinian Authority take charge of governing Gaza.
