US Launches New Attack on Pacific Ship, Killing Two
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete hegseth announced that Washington carried out another attack on a boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean suspected of drug trafficking, killing two people.
He stated, “We struck a vessel in the Pacific Ocean involved in drug trafficking.”
The attacks have been underway since early September. Experts say that even if these targets are confirmed traffickers, the operations amount to extrajudicial killings.Washington has yet to provide evidence supporting its claims about these vessels, which Venezuela describes as fishing boats.
Last night’s deadly strike came two days after multiple attacks on four boats in the eastern Pacific that left 14 dead.
Washington has deployed seven Navy warships, F-35 stealth fighters, and the carrier strike group of USS Gerald R. ford to the region.
The U.S. calls this military presence near Venezuelan waters an anti-narcotics operation. Though, Caracas views it as a cover for military action aimed at overthrowing President Nicolás Maduro’s government.
the Trump administration labeled Maduro as a drug trafficking kingpin and offered a $50 million reward for information leading to his arrest.
Maduro emphasized that drugs are not cultivated in Venezuela and said his country is used unwillingly as a transit route for cocaine from Colombia.
