Human Rights Organizations Warn of Mass Executions of Palestinian Prisoners

Palestinian human rights organizations warn of mass ‌executions of Palestinian ‌prisoners in Israeli regime prisons.

According⁣ to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Quds News Network, Palestinian human rights organizations issued a warning on Monday about the potential‌ for mass executions of palestinian prisoners by the‌ Israeli ‌regime if the proposed ⁢death penalty bill is approved by the Knesset.

The report states⁤ that nine Palestinian human rights groups, in a joint statement, emphasized that israeli occupation authorities have ⁣carried out executions for years through ‌various methods, even before any official law‍ was enacted.

These organizations highlighted⁢ that the most hazardous aspect of‌ this bill is its‍ retroactive application, which is unprecedented ‍in criminal ⁣law and would take ⁣effect‌ immediately upon issuance ⁤and publication.

The statement also noted that israel’s cabinet-and specifically Itamar Ben-Gvir, Minister of Internal Security-is pursuing legal cover for mass executions through this bill.the law could target hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including members of the⁣ Al-Qassam Brigades detained during or after operations on October 7, 2023.

In early November, Israel’s Knesset ⁢National⁤ Security ‌Committee approved forwarding this bill to a plenary session for a first ⁣reading vote.⁤ This move sparked widespread ‌criticism from Palestinian groups and also regional and international actors.

The bill stipulates the death penalty for ⁢anyone who intentionally or negligently causes the death of an Israeli ⁢settler.
