Senior Hezbollah Official: We Will Not Cut Ties with Iran

Mahmoud Al-Qomati, deputy head of Hezbollah’s political office, told Qatar’s Al jazeera network that the movement will maintain its links with Tehran as long as the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to support and respect hezbollah, according to webangah News Agency citing Mehr News Agency.
Referring to developments in southern Lebanon, he said that after failing to eliminate resistance in Palestine, the Israeli regime has escalated tensions along Lebanon’s southern borders.
He emphasized that the occupying regime seeks to impose its will and dominance over the region, but resistance will not yield under this pressure.
Al-Qomati added that Hezbollah will never lay down its arms or deviate from its path, even if Israeli pressures increase.
The Hezbollah official described the movement as a “national and Islamic resistance in Lebanon” and stressed that its main priority is defending and protecting Lebanon.
He also acknowledged Hezbollah’s relationship with Iran but stated that in light of threats concerning a “Greater Israel” posed by Netanyahu, they serve as a deterrent power ensuring national security for Arab countries.
