Zelensky Expects €40-45 Billion in Reparations Next Year

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Kyiv anticipates receiving between €40 and €45 billion in reparations next year through a compensation mechanism. He also stressed the need for strong security guarantees, particularly from the United States, to prevent future Russian aggression.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he expects Ukraine to receive between 40 and 45 billion euros in compensation next year.

Zelensky claimed that Russia is attacking Ukraine’s infrastructure and demanding the acceptance of restrictions on its sovereignty. He asserted that Ukraine is collaborating with its partners to change the situation along the Russian borders and prevent any new opportunities for war, emphasizing that the aggressor must bear the cost of their aggression and be held accountable.

The Ukrainian President acknowledged the financial challenges Ukraine faces and noted that they are working on a legal framework to enable the use of frozen Russian assets as compensation. He also expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for providing 700 million euros in military aid to Ukraine.

Zelensky stressed that international legal mechanisms must function effectively to ensure Russia is held accountable and that Ukraine receives compensation for the damages caused by Russian aggression. He mentioned that many countries are ready to provide security guarantees after a ceasefire is signed.

Furthermore, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for strong security guarantees from the United States, supported by the US Congress. He stated that the issue of security guarantees is non-negotiable and essential to prevent any recurrence of Russian aggression, with a strong army being one of the necessary security measures.
