Sydney: Seven Arrested in Alleged Plotting of Violent Acts

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, authorities in Sydney have apprehended seven people suspected of planning violent activities. The arrests followed a tip-off regarding a potential plot for a violent act within the city.
Police in New South Wales confirmed that officers intercepted two vehicles in Liverpool, a southwestern suburb of Sydney. Local media outlets have released images showing police in tactical gear detaining several individuals with their hands bound. One of the suspects appeared to be bleeding from the head.
In a statement, police clarified that these arrests are not connected to the recent attack at Bondi Beach. The Bondi Beach attack on Sunday, December 14, 2025, targeted a Jewish gathering, resulting in 16 fatalities and 40 injuries, including several prominent religious figures.
New South Wales Police had previously identified the perpetrators of the Bondi attack as a father and son, stating that no other suspects were involved. The Bondi event has been described as the deadliest mass shooting in Australia in recent decades.
