Egypt Announces Potential Timeline for Second Phase of Gaza Ceasefire

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty revealed ongoing efforts with allied nations to swiftly implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, targeting key steps including Israeli withdrawal and international force deployment.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty confirmed coordinated efforts with partner nations to urgently advance the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. The minister emphasized the critical need for concrete measures, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, disarmament protocols, deployment of international peacekeepers, and establishment of a Palestinian administrative committee to assume control of the territory.

Abdelatty stated that diplomatic consultations remain active, expressing optimism about initiating the ceasefire’s second phase and seating the Palestinian committee by January 2025. He condemned daily violations of the current truce in Gaza, calling for international forces to identify and address aggressors.
