Turkish Foreign Minister Meets Senior Hamas Delegation in Ankara

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks with a high-level Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya, discussing the Gaza situation and peace plan developments, reaffirming Turkey’s strong support for Palestinian rights.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with a senior Hamas delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the group’s political bureau, in Ankara on Wednesday. The discussions focused on assessing the situation in Gaza and exchanging views on the second phase of the peace plan.

Fidan emphasized Turkey‘s unwavering commitment to defending Palestinian rights across all domains, pledging to expand humanitarian aid and housing support in Gaza. The Hamas delegation responded by affirming their adherence to ceasefire obligations while accusing Israel of obstructing progress toward the peace plan’s next phase by continuing attacks on Gaza.

The delegation revealed that only 60% of humanitarian aid trucks had been permitted entry into Gaza, a quantity they described as insufficient for meeting basic needs. They also highlighted severe shortages of medicine, construction materials, fuel, and essential supplies, warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis.

Both parties reviewed developments regarding Palestinian faction agreements and the situation in the West Bank, condemning what they termed “unacceptable” actions by Zionist occupiers in the region.
