US Conducts Precision Airstrikes Against ISIS Targets in Northwestern Nigeria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces conducted precision airstrikes against ISIS strongholds in northwestern Nigeria overnight. The Pentagon executed multiple highly accurate attacks targeting the terrorist group’s infrastructure in the region.
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), an offshoot of Boko Haram, has been active in northeastern Nigeria since 2015. The group has carried out numerous attacks against security forces and civilians, particularly in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, resulting in thousands of casualties and displaced persons.
Nigerian forces, with support from neighboring countries and US air power, have conducted several counterterrorism operations against ISWAP bases and leadership in recent years.
