Netanyahu Insists on Israeli Military Control Over West Bank Amid Gaza War Objectives

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, facing ICC charges over Gaza war crimes, asserts that Israel must maintain military dominance in the West Bank while vowing to eliminate Hamas completely.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, currently under prosecution by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes in Gaza, has reiterated that Israel’s military control over the West Bank is non-negotiable. In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu stated that the objectives of the Gaza war, particularly the “complete destruction of Hamas,” remain unfulfilled.

Netanyahu claimed Israel emerged from a “seven-front war” as the Middle East’s most powerful nation. While acknowledging unsuccessful international efforts to deploy forces in Gaza, he said Israel would still allow time for such initiatives. Regarding a potential second phase of ceasefire talks, he remarked, “I think we should give it a chance.”

The Prime Minister expressed efforts to prevent retaliatory actions in the West Bank and advocated for “peaceful coexistence” between Israelis and Palestinians, though he ultimately emphasized Israel’s need for military control over the territory. In a separate interview with Newsmax, Netanyahu vowed to recover all remaining hostages in Gaza “by any means necessary.”

Addressing Somaliland’s potential inclusion in the Abraham Accords, Netanyahu noted the region’s democratic differences from Somalia. He also issued a warning to Iran, stating Israel doesn’t seek escalated tensions but promised “disastrous consequences” if provoked, while demanding Tehran abandon nuclear enrichment capabilities.
