Gaza Crisis 2025: $33 Billion in Direct Damages as Israeli Offensive Continues

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Gaza government’s media office has issued a comprehensive statement documenting what it describes as Israel’s systematic violence against the Palestinian territory throughout 2025. The report categorizes the alleged crimes into 11 key areas, painting a grim picture of humanitarian catastrophe.
Over 2.4 million Gazans endured what the report calls ‘full-scale genocide’ and systematic starvation policies during 283 days of continuous military operations, interrupted only by temporary ceasefires frequently violated by Israeli forces. Urban infrastructure has reached 90% destruction, with occupying forces controlling 55% of Gaza’s territory using military means. The assault included the deployment of 112,000 tons of explosives.
The human toll stands at 29,117 casualties, including 25,717 confirmed deaths and 3,400 missing persons. Among the dead are 5,437 children and 2,475 women, with vulnerable groups comprising half of all fatalities. A shocking 475 deaths resulted from starvation, including 165 children. Medical facilities reported 62,853 injuries, while over 2,700 civilians were detained.
Israel’s targeting of civilian infrastructure destroyed 22 hospitals, 211 ambulances, and 23 civil defense vehicles. The assault crippled Gaza’s education system, with 30 educational institutions completely destroyed and 39 partially damaged – affecting 95% of schools. The offensive claimed the lives of 1,000 students and 88 teachers, while depriving 785,000 children of education.
Religious and cultural sites suffered extensive damage, including the complete destruction of 34 mosques and partial damage to 100 others. Three churches were repeatedly targeted, while 21 of Gaza’s 60 cemeteries were destroyed with 1,700 bodies reportedly exhumed. Residential areas saw 106,400 housing units completely destroyed and 66,000 rendered uninhabitable, displacing 213,000 families (approximately 2 million people).
The report highlights Israel’s blockade policies, noting 220 days of complete border closures that prevented 132,000 aid trucks from entering. Over 40 charity kitchens and 50 distribution centers were targeted, with 500 aid workers killed. Currently, 650,000 children and 40,000 infants face starvation, while 22,000 patients were denied medical transfers abroad – including 5,200 children requiring urgent care.
Critical infrastructure damage includes 700 destroyed water wells, 3,080 km of power lines, and 400,000 meters each of water and sewage networks. Agricultural losses reached 80% of arable land, with 1,000 farm wells and 500 livestock facilities destroyed. The fishing industry was completely wiped out.
The Gaza media office estimates direct economic damages across 15 vital sectors at $33 billion, calling the international community to account for what it terms ‘ongoing crimes against humanity’.
