Netanyahu Agrees to Second Phase of Gaza Ceasefire Amid Talks with Trump on Iran and Hezbollah

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to proceed with the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire following discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump. During his visit to the U.S., Netanyahu raised Israel’s concerns regarding Iran’s missile defense program and Hezbollah’s efforts to rebuild its long-range missile arsenal in Lebanon.
Axios reported that Trump assured Netanyahu he would authorize military action against Hamas if the group fails to disarm. However, the two leaders did not reach an agreement on a timeline or understanding for potential future military action against Iran.
This development comes as the U.S. violated international norms by encroaching on Iranian soil ahead of the sixth round of indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington. The act drew widespread condemnation from numerous countries worldwide.
