US Warns Kyiv Against Targeting American Economic Interests in Russia Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Washington, Olga Stefanishyna, has revealed that the Donald Trump administration has officially warned Kyiv that Ukrainian attacks must not target American economic interests. Stefanishyna stated that Kyiv received a formal note from the U.S. State Department requesting the avoidance of targeting “American interests.”
She elaborated that Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s Novorossiysk port in November of the previous year, 2025, had damaged American investments in Kazakhstan. These strikes, carried out in November 2025, impacted a subsea oil pipeline belonging to Kazakhstan, which in turn affected the American company Chevron.
This unusual step of issuing a diplomatic protest note reflects the priorities of the U.S. government and aligns with President Donald Trump’s decision last year to halt military aid to Kyiv.
