French Military Chief Slams White House, Cites Unpredictable U.S. Alliance

France’s Chief of Army Staff, General Fabien Mandion, has sharply criticized the United States, labeling it an increasingly unpredictable ally whose actions pose risks to French interests and security. The remarks highlight growing European concerns over American foreign policy decisions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French Chief of Army Staff General Fabien Mandion announced on Tuesday that the United States has become an unpredictable ally, a development with significant implications for France‘s interests and security. His statements were reported by the Mehr News Agency, citing the website of the newspaper Le Figaro.

Speaking at a defense and security forum in Paris, General Mandion expressed surprise at the American ally’s behavior. “We are surprised by the American ally, who remains an ally but is increasingly unpredictable, and does not even bother to inform us when deciding to launch military operations,” he stated. “This has consequences for our security and our interests.”

The French Chief of Army Staff further elaborated on this point, noting specific instances. “They have now decided to intervene in the Middle East without informing us,” he said. “However, the immediate concern for the French armed forces has been to find solutions to protect our citizens who were passing through the region.”

A representative for the French Minister of Armed Forces also commented on the situation, stating that French interests in the region have been jeopardized.
