US Consumers Pay Additional $59 Billion for Fuel Amidst Iran Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States and the Israeli regime’s unlawful aggression against Iranian territory, violating all international norms, has resulted in significant financial repercussions for American consumers. The Independent reported that Americans have spent an additional $59 billion on fuel since the onset of the conflict involving Iran, initiated during the Trump administration.
Mark Zandi, Chief Economist at Moody’s Analytics, estimated on CNBC’s Squawk Box that these increased costs amount to approximately $450 per American household. This figure primarily reflects higher gasoline prices, but also encompasses increased expenses for diesel fuel, jet fuel, and consequently, more expensive airline tickets.
The Independent further noted that Zandi projected that if the conflict does not conclude soon, consumers will face mounting financial pressure, compelling them to exercise greater caution in their spending. This potential reduction in consumer spending poses a threat to an already fragile U.S. economy.
