Israel Intensifies Construction of Military Fortifications in Southern Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local sources in Syria’s Al-Qunaytirah Governorate have reported that military machinery belonging to the Israeli army has initiated a new phase of excavation and land leveling around Akasha Hill, close to the village of Birqa. These activities are part of an ongoing project to establish military fortifications known as ‘Sufa 53,’ which stretches along the armistice line between Syria and the occupied Golan Heights.
The excavation operations have primarily focused on agricultural lands surrounding Akasha Hill. Concurrently, Israeli military vehicles and equipment have been observed in the border region, indicating increased troop and materiel movement. These actions have resulted in damage to significant portions of the agricultural lands, which serve as the primary source of income and livelihood for the residents of these areas.
The new construction and military movements by the Israeli forces underscore ongoing tensions and strategic developments in the region bordering Syria and the occupied territories.
