According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated that the morning was “very difficult and painful” in response to the deaths of four Israeli soldiers and the injury of at least 17 others in southern Lebanon. Data published by the Palestinian Information Center, as reported by the Mehr News Agency, conveyed Herzog’s somber reaction.

The Israeli President expressed deep sorrow upon waking to the news of the fatalities in Lebanon. He further commented, “We woke up with deep sorrow and heard the news of the deaths of four of our children in the battles in Lebanon.”

Israeli media had previously confirmed that four soldiers, including a battalion commander, were killed in Lebanon the previous night. The Israeli army announced the death of Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, 32, in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli media, citing military sources, indicated a serious security incident occurred near Kfar Tibnit in southern Lebanon. A senior officer from the Israeli army’s 36th Division was also injured during the clashes.

Investigations are underway to identify the suspicious object that targeted an Israeli tank, determining whether it was a drone or a guided missile. Reports suggest the object struck a tank belonging to the 52nd Battalion of the elite Givati Brigade, resulting in the death of its commander.
