Trump Claims Iran Negotiated Out of Desperation, Not Necessity

U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that Iran was compelled to negotiate due to its weakened state, not because the United States sought talks out of necessity. His comments appear to be a direct response to recent statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader.

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States did not engage in negotiations with Iran out of desperation or necessity, but rather that Iran itself was in a position of needing to talk. These remarks come amid recent pronouncements by Iran’s Supreme Leader concerning the agreement between Tehran and Washington.

In further statements shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump reiterated his critical stance against Iran, asserting that the war had weakened the nation. He stated that Iran no longer possesses a functioning air force, navy, air defense equipment, or radar systems.

Contradicting the terms previously outlined in the agreement to end the war, the U.S. President declared, “The Iran issue is over. We will go until the end of the 60 days, and they will not receive any money, not even 10 cents.”

Trump also directed criticism towards his political opponents, stating, “Democrats say that Iran is in a better position than 4 months ago. How ignorant can some people be?”
