US Public Disapproves of Trump’s Iran Policy, Poll Reveals

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a collaborative survey conducted by The Associated Press and the NORC research center indicates that around 65 percent of American citizens disapprove of the policies implemented by President Donald Trump‘s administration concerning Iran. The findings were published on Friday, based on interviews with 3040 individuals between June 11 and 17.
The research highlighted a negative perception of Trump’s actions, not only among Democrats and independent voters but also within a portion of the Republican Party’s base. Specifically, only 28 percent of Republicans expressed satisfaction with the Trump administration’s approach to Iran.
Furthermore, 53 percent of the survey respondents characterized the recent U.S. military actions against Iran as “excessive.” The poll also examined American views on the administration’s policies toward the Zionist regime, revealing that only 34 percent of those surveyed agreed with Trump’s approach to this entity.
Some participants in the survey emphasized that [Benjamin] Netanyahu pursues his own independent agenda, and Trump is unable to influence him. These results emerge as U.S. and Iranian presidents electronically signed the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” on Wednesday evening. This agreement, facilitated by Pakistan, paves the way for an end to hostilities that began against Iran on February 28.
According to official announcements from the Pakistani mediator, upon the implementation of this memorandum of understanding, Iran has initiated the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States has placed the lifting of naval blockades against Iran, in effect since April, on its agenda.
