Germany Blames Trump for Hormuz Strait Blockade, Calls for De-escalation
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the secure passage through the Strait of Hormuz is vital for Europe’s energy security and economic improvement, and directly attributed its closure to former U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius declared on Sunday in an interview with the ARD television network that the opening, or rather the secure transit, of the Strait of Hormuz is beneficial for Europe, its energy supply, and economic improvement.
The German Defense Minister elaborated that any agreement to reopen the strait would require the support of Iran and Oman. He further added that former President Donald Trump is to blame for the obstruction of the Strait of Hormuz.
