Israeli Foreign Minister Reiterates Defiant Stance on Southern Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sa’ar has asserted that the Israeli regime will not retreat from southern Lebanon.
Speaking on the situation, Sa’ar stated, “We will not withdraw from the security zone (southern Lebanon) and will not put the lives of residents in the northern areas at risk of Hezbollah attacks.”
Earlier, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, had adopted an aggressive posture, claiming that “Lebanon should become a playground for the Israeli army.” He further added that “no restrictions from the United States should be accepted against the operations of the Israeli army in Lebanon. If Trump tells Netanyahu that Israel should leave Lebanon, the answer should be: Mr. President, no!”
Ben-Gvir emphasized that “there should be no distinction between Lebanon and Hezbollah. All of Lebanon’s territory should become a direct target for the Israeli army without exception.” He also made a statement reflecting the nature of the Israeli regime, saying, “A thousand Lebanese mothers may cry, but not even one Israeli mother should cry! Our priority is to support Israelis, even at the cost of Lebanese civilian lives.”
It is important to note that Iran has a firm condition in its agreement with the United States, which includes a cessation of conflict on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon, and a withdrawal of the Israeli regime. However, Trump’s positions against Netanyahu and his opposition regarding Lebanon appear to be more of a division of labor between Washington and Tel Aviv than a genuine divergence.
