Shapiro commented that Trump signaled a willingness to retreat and play a weaker role in the Middle East by agreeing to a deal with Iran.

Shapiro admitted that the next U.S. president would be less prepared to engage in a similar military conflict. He further elaborated that Trump and Netanyahu had bet on internal unrest in Iran following a recent war. They anticipated that the ruling system in Iran had weakened and was on the verge of collapse. However, this prediction proved incorrect, as Iran emerged from the conflict stronger than before, with the war consolidating its position.
