Former US Ambassador: Iran Emerged Stronger, Trump and Netanyahu Miscalculated

Former U.S. Ambassador to the occupied territories, Dan Shapiro, stated that Iran emerged from recent conflicts stronger, asserting that the strategic miscalculations of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu led to missed opportunities and a strengthened position for Tehran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Financial Times, citing former U.S. Ambassador to the occupied territories Dan Shapiro, reported that Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu overstated their power and squandered a prime strategic opportunity. Shapiro commented that Trump signaled a willingness to retreat and play a weaker role in the Middle East by agreeing to a deal with Iran.

Shapiro admitted that the next U.S. president would be less prepared to engage in a similar military conflict. He further elaborated that Trump and Netanyahu had bet on internal unrest in Iran following a recent war. They anticipated that the ruling system in Iran had weakened and was on the verge of collapse. However, this prediction proved incorrect, as Iran emerged from the conflict stronger than before, with the war consolidating its position.
