Former Israeli PM Bennett Criticizes Netanyahu’s Claims of Military Freedom in Lebanon
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing a report from Israel’s Channel 15 as published by Mehr News Agency, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has voiced strong criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Bennett stated that Netanyahu speaks of military freedom of action in Lebanon, but in practice, has restricted the hands of Israeli soldiers there.
Hebrew media outlets report that commanders of the Israeli army in Lebanon are facing limitations, with soldiers only permitted to open fire in the face of immediate threats, unless they receive direct authorization from the Chief of Staff. The report also indicates that firing upon civilians attempting to return to their homes has been prohibited.
The criticism comes amidst ongoing discussions surrounding the geopolitical situation. It is noteworthy that yesterday, during negotiations between Iran and the United States in Switzerland, the Iranian delegation threatened to withdraw from consultations due to the violation of the Tehran-Washington understanding concerning the continued aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon.
