UN Report Accuses Israel of Deliberate Targeting of Children in Gaza, Citing Genocide
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UN investigators have accused the Israeli regime of deliberately targeting Palestinian children, identifying this as the main driver of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. The findings are based on data published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen.
The UN’s independent international commission of inquiry stated that it has uncovered evidence indicating Palestinian children were intentionally targeted and killed by Israeli security forces. The commission considers these actions a fundamental factor in proving the “genocidal intent of Israeli officials and security forces aiming to eliminate more Palestinians in Gaza.”
The report details that the Israeli regime intentionally targeted Palestinian children, leading to the commission of war crimes in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. According to the UN investigation, approximately 30 percent of the casualties in the Gaza war were children.
The UN emphasized that the Israeli regime has committed genocide in Gaza, adding that senior Israeli leaders, including Benjamin Netanyahu, have incited these actions. The UN investigation confirms that from October 7, 2023, to October 7, 2025, at least 20,179 children in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli regime.
The report also accuses Israeli soldiers of using weapons with extensive effects in densely populated residential areas of Gaza. It adds that children have been collectively targeted because Israeli forces consider the entire civilian population linked to Hamas. According to the commission, the conditions imposed by Tel Aviv on Gaza have severely harmed the health and development of children. Israeli attacks on health and fertility centers in Gaza have also impacted infant survival rates.
Furthermore, the report notes a significant increase in settler violence against Palestinian children in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Palestinian children, particularly boys, are subjected to systematic mistreatment in Israeli detention centers. The report clarifies that mistreatment of children in Israeli detention centers constitutes a crime against humanity.
