Hamas Criticizes Trump Envoy for Pro-Israel Stance, Offers Gaza Governance Transfer

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has voiced strong criticism of Nikolay Mladenov, identified as a representative of President Trump’s peace initiative, alleging that he is unequivocally supporting the Israeli regime’s positions rather than acting as a mediator. Osamah Hamdan, a leading figure in Hamas, stated in an interview with Yemen’s Al Masirah TV that Mladenov has made no commitments to Palestinian aspirations and has reduced the entire issue to the disarmament of the resistance, a stance rejected by Palestinian factions.
Hamdan elaborated that Mladenov’s primary problem lies in his official endorsement of the Israeli regime’s stance instead of fulfilling a mediator’s role. He highlighted three key issues with Mladenov: firstly, the absence of any commitment to Palestinian demands, including the implementation of the first phase of an agreement; secondly, Mladenov’s refusal to obligate the occupation authorities to fulfill their commitments and provide practical guarantees; and thirdly, his sole focus on disarming the resistance, which lacks consensus among Palestinian groups.
The Hamas leader asserted that the Israeli enemy is attempting to sow discord among the resistance fronts, but this effort reflects the regime’s own impasse and is destined to fail due to the complete understanding among resistance forces. Hamdan expressed gratitude for the support of resistance fronts for Palestine, predicting the failure of all Israeli and allied efforts to isolate Palestinians from the Islamic nation, and foreseeing an expansion of the resistance landscape. He added that these supportive actions will be permanently recorded in the history of the Islamic nation for the resistance fronts.
In a separate development, the Palestinian Information Center reported that Hazem Qasem, the spokesperson for Hamas, announced the movement’s complete readiness to transfer all governance responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, including the security file, to the “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza.” Hamas urged mediating entities to facilitate the committee’s immediate entry into the Strip. Qasem stated that accelerating the entry and operational commencement of the “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza” was a central topic in recent Hamas discussions in Cairo. He reiterated Hamas’s full willingness to cede all governance areas, including security, to this committee and to cooperate maximally for its mission’s success.
The Hamas spokesperson criticized the UN Security Council’s performance, deeming it unacceptable that the council has been unable to facilitate the committee’s entry into Gaza months after its formation, effectively remaining passive in the face of Israeli demands. Qasem concluded by expressing hope that mediation efforts would result in the swift entry of the National Committee into Gaza, paving the way for stabilizing the situation in the region and initiating a genuine aid process to alleviate some of the people’s suffering.
