US Senate Rejects Further War Powers Limits Against Iran, Trump Celebrates

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Senate on Thursday morning rejected a proposal to limit the president’s war powers against Iran for the tenth time. U.S. senators convened on Thursday morning and for the tenth occasion, voted down a proposal to restrict the war powers of U.S. President Donald Trump concerning Iran.
CBS News reported that during the vote in the U.S. Senate, American senators opposed requiring Trump to obtain congressional approval for any further military action against Iran, with a vote of 50 against and 47 in favor.
In response to the vote, Trump posted on his official Truth Social account, stating: “The Senate changed its Iran vote from 50-48 AGAINST, to 50-47 FOR. Rand Paul and Bill Cassidy changed their votes. Thank you to John Thune, Lindsey Graham, Bernie Moreno, and all. This vote warns Iran.”
This development comes just one day after four Republicans voted in favor of a separate resolution passed in the House of Representatives to limit Trump’s war powers, allowing that resolution to narrowly pass.
