Putin and Trump Discuss Ukraine Diplomacy in Hour-Long Call

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin extended congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of U.S. Independence Day in a phone call. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian President, announced that the conversation between Putin and Trump lasted for an hour and a half.
During the call, Putin provided Trump with a detailed account of what he described as the “real picture of the battlefield in Ukraine.” Ushakov also stated that Putin conveyed Russia’s readiness to provide practical assistance aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.
The Russian President underscored his preference for a political and diplomatic solution to the Ukraine crisis, emphasizing that such a process must be pursued while considering Russia’s foundational principles and approaches. Ushakov confirmed that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s special envoy and son-in-law respectively, will continue their mediation efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
The aide to the Russian President added that Trump, during the call, addressed the prospect of expanding cooperation between Moscow and Washington following the conclusion of the conflict in Ukraine.
