China Opposes Unilateral Sanctions Against Iran, Citing Dialogue as Solution

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has voiced its opposition to unilateral sanctions targeting Iran, asserting that dialogue and negotiation are the only viable solutions to complex international issues. Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, addressed remarks by U.S. officials regarding the imposition of sanctions on Beijing due to its trade activities with Tehran, stating, “Regarding the situation in Iran, we have always believed that dialogue and negotiation are the only way to resolve issues.” He underscored that China’s position against unilateral and unlawful sanctions is firm and clear.

In a related development, Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Constitutional Committee of the Federation Council of Russia, commented that the United States frequently issues threats against countries, which ultimately proves detrimental to the U.S. itself. He referenced the futility of former President Donald Trump’s threats to destroy Iran’s civilization if the country did not yield, adding that the outcome of such approaches is evident and could lead to a deterioration of U.S. relations with many nations.

Numerous experts believe that sanctions often boomerang back on the imposing countries, leading to increased costs and price hikes for energy, as well as other goods and services within those nations.
