Yemen Holds Riyadh Responsible for Escalation, Rejects Saudi Peace Claims

Yemen’s National Salvation Government has declared its unwavering commitment to ending the blockade and siege, asserting that Riyadh bears full responsibility for any escalation, while refuting Saudi claims regarding peace efforts.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen‘s National Salvation Government in Sana’a issued a statement declaring that all Yemeni institutions have decided to end the “aggression and siege” and will not retreat from this path, regardless of the costs.

The statement indicated that the process of breaking the siege is still in its initial stages and that Saudi Arabia must take seriously the recent message from Yemen’s armed forces regarding the assertion of the Yemeni people’s rights.

The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urged Riyadh to refrain from further escalation, considering the oil facilities, Aramco company, Yanbu Port, other ports, financial markets, and “Vision 2030” projects.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Salvation Government also denied Saudi Arabia’s claim that Sana’a opposes the roadmap developed with Omani mediation and called for the immediate signing and implementation of this agreement without delay.

The ministry held Saudi Arabia responsible for the continued blockade of Yemen’s ports and airports, the prevention of salary payments to employees, and the exacerbation of the country’s economic and humanitarian crises. It emphasized that Riyadh, due to initiating and leading the war, cannot present itself as an impartial party in this matter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Salvation Government also rejected Saudi Arabia’s claim of defending Yemen’s sovereignty, stating that Riyadh has no authority to act as guardian or defender of other countries, especially while being the aggressor against Yemen.

The statement concluded by warning Saudi Arabia that any hostile action against Yemen will have repercussions for regional stability, and Riyadh must learn from the experiences of past years.

Sana’a stressed that in the event of any military or hostile action by Saudi Arabia or its allied forces, Riyadh will bear full responsibility for the consequences and repercussions.
