Iraq Declares Wednesday Official Holiday for Iranian Leader’s Funeral

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi has declared Wednesday an official holiday throughout the country. This decision aligns with the scheduled funeral ceremony for the “martyred leader of Iran.” The funeral procession is expected to be held in the cities of Najaf and Karbala.
Earlier, Ahmad Al-Fatlawi, the official spokesperson for the Governor of Najaf, announced that the province had been holding continuous meetings with security, service, and social entities, as well as the Husseiniya processions’ committees, to ensure full readiness for the event. These preparations began once the time for the funeral of the “martyred leader of Iran” was announced and have continued for three days prior.
Al-Fatlawi stated that the official funeral ceremony will commence at 9:00 PM tonight at Najaf International Airport, with the attendance of senior Iraqi officials and several foreign delegations. The public procession is set to begin at 6:00 AM tomorrow.
Responding to a question regarding the expected attendance, Al-Fatlawi projected that the number of participants would undoubtedly exceed one million people, and could potentially be significantly higher.
