Macron: Iran-US Talks to Continue Amidst Escalating Tensions

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that discussions between Iran and the United States will proceed, despite recent escalations and a violation of a temporary agreement. Macron acknowledged Iran’s retaliatory actions against U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf, deeming Tehran’s move an error.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron reacted today to renewed provocations by American military personnel in their illegal encroachment into Iranian territory and the violation of agreed-upon terms between Tehran and Washington. This information was published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Nahar newspaper.

The French President stated, “My understanding is that the meetings concerning Iran within the framework of the 60-day ceasefire will continue.”

According to the Dan newspaper, the French President believes that Iran’s retaliatory attacks on U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf have breached the temporary agreement and that Tehran’s action in carrying out these attacks was a mistake. Nevertheless, in his view, the meetings related to the 60-day ceasefire between Iran and the United States will persist.
