Sudan Issues In Absentia Death Sentence for RSF Leader Hemedti

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an in absentia death sentence has been issued for Hemedti, the leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), marking a significant development in Sudan‘s ongoing conflict. The judicial ruling, issued in the fourth year of hostilities, is considered a severe blow to the rebel forces.
Simultaneously, Sudan’s Supreme National Security Council, chaired by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, announced in its recent session that while the government welcomes peace initiatives, any agreement will be conditional on preserving territorial sovereignty and the withdrawal of rebel forces from occupied cities.
The high-ranking security body emphasized the government’s firm stance against elements disrupting stability and expressed readiness to review mediation outcomes to achieve lasting peace.
While the shadow of war has plunged Sudan into deep humanitarian crises, with the United Nations warning about the malnutrition of 825,000 children, the Sudanese government continues to prioritize ‘national unity’ against armed rebellions and foreign interventions.
This judicial ruling represents another step towards the legal prosecution of rebel leaders and the restoration of legal order in the country.
