Russia Warns Against U.S. Military Presence in Region, Offers Mediation

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Yemelyanov has cautioned that the presence of U.S. military bases in regional countries could escalate conflicts, while Moscow has offered to assist in resolving tensions between Iran and Arab nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has expressed concerns regarding the U.S. military presence in regional nations. Alexander Yemelyanov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that such deployments might not serve as a protective factor but could instead draw countries into conflict, transforming them into battlegrounds. He emphasized that any military base belonging to an adversary anywhere would become a legitimate target during wartime.

Yemelyanov further indicated Moscow’s readiness to contribute to the resolution of crises involving Iran and the United States, as well as issues between Iran and the Arab states of the region. He clarified that Russia does not intend to impose its mediation on any party, maintaining ongoing communication with all relevant stakeholders, including Islamabad, Riyadh, and Ankara.
