Pentagon Confirms 100 U.S. Service Members Wounded Since New Conflict With Iran Began

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense, also known as the Pentagon, has confirmed that around 100 members of the U.S. armed forces have been wounded to varying extents since July 7, 2026. This information was released by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera network.

The Pentagon official, while asserting that “96 percent of the injured have returned to their missions,” admitted that the majority of the injuries were the result of mild traumatic brain injuries. This statement comes in contrast to previous reports.

Earlier, the Associated Press had reported that the number of U.S. military personnel killed in the conflict with Iran had risen to 17. The U.S. Department of Defense had also previously announced that the number of wounded among its military personnel had increased to 427 following incursions into Iran that began last year.

Furthermore, the U.S. Central Command had previously acknowledged that two American soldiers were killed and one went missing following Iran’s attacks on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
