Israeli Forces Intensify Surveillance Operations in Southern Syria

Israeli military forces have recently escalated surveillance activities in southern Syria’s Quneitra province, reportedly installing thermal cameras and monitoring systems near the ceasefire line. These actions follow a pattern of increased Israeli incursions and heightened military presence in the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local sources in Syria’s southern Quneitra province have reported that Israeli patrols have installed thermal cameras and monitoring and reconnaissance systems in elevated areas near the ceasefire line with Syria. These developments indicate a significant increase in Israeli military engagement in the region.

The sources specified that Israeli soldiers raided the village of Al-Samdaniyah Al-Gharbi in the Quneitra countryside on Tuesday, where they installed a reconnaissance system before withdrawing. This move underscores a strategic effort by Israel to enhance its intelligence-gathering capabilities along the border.

These operations are part of a broader pattern of Israeli military activity in southern Syria. Yesterday, Israeli soldiers also raided the Quneitra countryside, establishing a checkpoint to inspect passersby. Concurrently, Israeli drones were observed flying in the airspace of the area, suggesting a coordinated approach to surveillance and control.

The reported Israeli forces detained and searched Syrian citizens during these operations. This has raised concerns among local populations and regional observers about the implications for civilian movement and safety in the border areas.

These recent movements occur amidst a backdrop of persistent Israeli operations in Quneitra and Daraa provinces in southern Syria. The region has periodically witnessed Israeli military raids, and incidents of gunfire have been reported in the border areas between Syria and occupied Palestine. The intensified surveillance suggests a continued focus by Israeli forces on monitoring activities within southern Syria.
